Sykkeltur forslag rundt Trondheim

Ringve Museum (© Ringve Museum)Typically, a bike is great to visit the Ringve Museum: unreachable on foot, wonderfully located on the Lade peninsula offering a spectacular view of the Trondheimsfjord. Ringve Museum was originally a farmhouse, later transformed into Norway's national museum for music and musical instruments, displaying today a rich international collection. All around, the buildings are surrounded by the Botanical Garden, which includes sections like the Arboretum, the Prime rose Garden and the Renaissance Garden.

Futher to the west, you will reach the beach of Rotvoll at the end of the Ladestien (the path of Lade). The latter is feasable on a bike, but very technical. It fits better for a walking tour. Rotvoll is big, popular, very pleasant. Don't expect any restaurant or other facilites. A closeby "anthroposophical" farm sells home made fruit juice and excellent bread in its shop.

The huts
Do you wonder where all the poeple are on a Sunday? Join them on the forest traks, and combine a bike tour with a walk on beautifully smooth grounds, ending with great waffles or other cinnammon breads and - why not? - a bath in one of the several lakes. Not for picky people, you will notice the rusticity of some installation - the toilets for instance; so close to the town, so beatyfully in contrast with its  modernity.

There are two main huts: the Estendstadhytta in the south of the city and the Elgsethytta in the west, in the Bymarka forest.
